Automobile battery heating system for engine starting in a low temperature environment

The battery heating system consists of an electrical heating resistance which can be installed inside or outside the battery case. The heater is designed to heat the battery electrolyte. The supply to the heater is taken from the battery terminals, both heater supply connections and heater are insulated from other battery components. Operation of the electric heater can be done manually or by appropriate means linked to the automobile ignition key when very low ambient temperature make it necessary.
