The optical transmission line system dispersion connection has a transmission line connection assembly (4-1) with a first section (4a) having a positive wavelength dispersion and relatively large non linear area and a second section (4b) with a negative wavelength dispersion and a relatively small non-linear region. The relationship between the length of the second section optical fibre in the total first transmission length segment is between 20 and 40 per cent.
