Conductor slots (4) in an electrical stator (1) are insulated by a sheet of insulating material (2) formed to a cylinder with an overlap (2a). The overlap is located against a full face of the slot (4) and a matrix forming and heating tool is used to bell (2b) the insulating end. The tool pressure against the conductor slot edge makes a weakness (2c) which is then moved slightly upwards and away from the slot edge.
