PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquid plastisol and a foamed product excellent in foam quality from a same latex by using an alkali metal salt of metabisulfite as a reducing agent. ;SOLUTION: This method for producing a latex of a vinyl chloride-based polymer is to use an alkali metal salt of metabisulfite (e.g.; potassium metabisulfite) as a reducing agent in the case of performing a micro suspension polymerization of a corresponding monomer in the presence of (A) a first seed polymer containing at least one kind of an initiator soluble to an organic solvent in particles thereof, (B) a second seed polymer having a smaller mean particle diameter than that of the component (A), water, an anionic emulsifier, a soluble metal salt and a reducing agent by adjusting 0.09 molar ratio of the metal salt/the initiator soluble to the organic solvent. Further, it is preferable to perform the reaction in the presence of at least one kind of a water soluble initiator more concretely ammonium persulfate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
