PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer bag for a transfusion bag having a function as the outer bag of the transfusion bag and a light shielding cover in preservation, transportation and in use as well as a method for preserving the transfusion bag and use method using the same.;SOLUTION: The outer bag 10 for the transfusion bag is a bag of an approximately rectangular shape formed by welding a UV absorptive (semi)transparent film 11 having flexibility and a perfect light shielding film 12 at their each of ends and is capable of covering the entire part of the transfusion bag 81 on at least the perfect light shielding film 12 side of the bag 10 by folding and superposing the extra segment of, for example, the bag 10 on the transfusion bag 81 while positioning the perfect light shielding film 12 side on the outer side.
