PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and massively generate natural and various handwritten characters by forming various patterns from plural real handwritten characters. SOLUTION: This method is for artificially generating the deformed character patterns from a difference between a reference character pattern and an input character pattern, and is provided with a processing for obtaining pixels of the input character pattern corresponding to respective pixels of the reference character pattern and for setting a correspondence relation between the pixels of the reference character pattern and the pixels of the input character pattern, a processing for obtaining differences in coordinate values between pixels made to correspond to each other related to respective pixels of the input character pattern and for defining the differences in the coordinate values as reference displacement amounts of respective pixels, a processing for obtaining a new displacement amount by changing the reference displacement amounts based on the value imparted from the outside and a processing for displacing the coordinates of the pixels of the input character pattern according to the new displacement amount and for generating the deformed character patterns.
