PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document image processor which stably detects inclinations of various document images. SOLUTION: This processor has a linked area extracting part 21 which extracts linked areas where a plurality of pixels are linked from document image data, an inclination detecting part 2 which detects the inclination of the document image on the basis of the extracted linked areas and a reliability deciding part 23 which decides the reliability of inclination detection from the number of the linked areas where an outer quadrature is of a prescribed size among the extracted linked areas. Only when the decided reliability is high, the part 22 performs inclination detection.
