PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface conditions for obtaining tandem stainless steel excellent in the uniformity of a color tone in which white stripes are inconspicuous besides, high productivity which is the advantage of tandem cold rolling is guaranteed. ;SOLUTION: In this stainless steel sheet excellent in the uniformity of the color tone on the surface, the surface roughness Ra is 0.2-2.0 μm, the sheet has recessed parts of 1-20 μm deep on the surface, the equivalent diameter of the circle of the recessed part is 20-500 μm and the area rate of the recessed part on the surface of the steel sheet is 30-70%.
