PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving operating method of reactive power compensating equipment in which useless output of the equipment is eliminated and energy capable of quickly coping with instantaneous voltage change is always stored. SOLUTION: A set voltage of the reactive power compensating equipment 4 is changed in such a manner that an output of equipment is decreased with a time constant. Consequently, the output of the equipment 4 in the stationary state can be reduced, and energy capable of coping with instantaneous voltage change can be stored.
