摘要
Invention Patent: "EXPRESSION OF FRUCTOSE 1.6 BIPOSPHATE ALDOLASE IN TRANSGENIC PLANTS". Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (fda) is an enzyme that inversely catalyzes the reaction of converting triosphosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate. In the leaf, this enzyme is located in the chloroplast (synthesis of starch) and in the cytosol (biosynthesis of sucrose). Transgenic plants that express the E.coli fda gene in the chloroplast were generated to improve plant yield, specifically by increasing the biosynthetic capacity of leaf starch and the production of sucrose in general. The leaves of plants expressing the fda transgene showed a significantly greater accumulation of starch, when compared to control plants expressing a null vector, specifically early in the photoperiod, but had lower sucrose in the leaf. Transgenic plants also had a significantly larger root mass. In addition, transgenic potatoes expressing fda exhibited improved solid uniformity.
