The present invention relates to a method for identifying compounds capable of modulating the function of a human HIF-244 factor functional domain, a diode method comprising: (i) contacting a candidate compound with a human HIF1244 variant, said variant omitting at least one domain factor HIF-1244 or having a mutation that makes at least one functional domain of factor HIF-1244Essentially inactive, said functional domain or functional domains being selected from the group consisting of: (a) PAS-B domain located in the fatorHIF-1 244 human, between amino acids 178 and 390; (b)nuclear localization hub (NLS) of terminal C located in factor HIF-1 244 human, essentially in amino acids 718 a721; (c) transactional/co-activation domain (N-TAD) located in the HIF-1 244 human, essentially between amino acids 531 to 584; and (d) transposive/co-activation domain (C-TAD) located in the HIF-1 244 human, essentially between amino acids 813 and 826;and (ii)determine the effect of the candidate compound on that variant.
