Inverting the container (1) allows cream past a valve (18) to fill the space occupied by a flexible dosing device (3). Pressing the sponge (6) against the shoe forces the brush (10) down to squeeze the dosing device. Cream is forced through the openings (12,13) and partially absorbed by the open cell top layer (8) of the sponge.
