A device for assisting removal of dead skin tissue, comprising a rotatable head, a control means for controlling rotation of the head and a cap removably locatable over at least a portion of the head and retainable thereon during rotation of the head, wherein upon activation of the control means, the cap rotates with the head and is adapted to be located in contact with a skin tissue surface to assist removal of dead skin tissue therefrom.
