PURPOSE: A space-time array receiving system using a chip level and time reference beam making algorithm is provided to easily implement hardware without largely modifying a structure of existing demodulator by regenerating reference signal more closed to received signal. CONSTITUTION: A number of digital beam making networks make beams by down-sampling received signal, multiplying weighted vectors and filtering in space. A number of existing demodulators demodulates output signal from the digital beam making networks. A rake synthesizer is inputted which output from the demodulators and synthesizes symbols. A hard limiter for estimating symbols determines codes of the synthesized symbols. A reference signal generator generates a reference signal for each multi-path signal. A number of subtracting devices compare output from the reference signal generator and output from the digital beam making networks, and generate error signal. A number of weighted vector estimators receives the error signal, and then estimate weighted vectors, and provides the estimated vectors to the digital beam making networks.
