-2000 / ATM cell multiplexer/demultiplexer using priority method in IMT-2000 base statoin controller

PURPOSE: An ATM cell multiplexing/demultiplexing apparatus for an IMT-2000 BSC(Base Station Controller) system is provided to smoothly transmit an ATM cell data by adding a priority to each physical layer device and transmitting an ATM cell through a physical layer device in which the priority is high. CONSTITUTION: An ATM cell multiplexing unit(110) receives an ATM cell from a plurality of physical layer devices(11-14) and multiplexes the ATM cell according a priority of the set physical layer devices(11-14) to transmit the multiplexed ATM cell to an ATM layer device(20). A CPU matching unit(120) provides priority information of the physical layer devices(11-14) to the ATM cell multiplexing unit(110). An ATM demultiplexing unit(130) receives an ATM cell from the ATM layer device(20) and demultiplexes the received ATM cell to the physical layer devices(11-14).
