Cosmetic or dermatological water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions contain (A) at least one modified layered silicate and (B) at least one polar ultraviolet (UV) filter and/or polar oil component. An Independent claim is included for the use of (A) for obtaining stability in or increasing stability of W/O emulsions, specifically those containing (B).
