The pendulum has a pendulum body (1) at the end of an elongate suspension device (2) which is supported above the head of the patient, e.g. by fixing it to the ceiling, so that the pendulum is free to swing without hitting the patient's body (12). The pendulum body contains at least one device for providing a magnetic treatment field, e.g. a permanent magnet or a voltage source coupled to a current generator supplying current to a magnetic field inductance. The oscillation movement of the pendulum can be controlled by a clockwork mechanism or an electric motor.
