A parachute is arranged in a container and is cast out of the aircraft, upon the operation of a mechanical or remote-controlled device, by means of a mechanical or pneumatic force, without a propulsion unit. The parachute lies in the container against an ejector which extends out of a section of the container where it obtains the acceleration necessary for ejection, whereby problems such as the hanging of the parachute on an ejection accelerator device. An electric power supply may be provided for the remote control receiver and servomotors. An Independent claim is included for a rescue system for aircraft and model aircraft.
