A monitor or display arrangement that can be lowered for cars and mounted on a pivoting arm, is described. For the installation in the region of the rear seat of the car, the monitor (11) together with pivoting arms (12) in the side directed forwards of a middle armrest (10) assigned to the rear seats can be completely lowered in or out of an opening there or taken out of the same. The pivoting arm is so long or is so arranged that the monitor can be pivoted into the straight-ahead field of vision of the corresponding passenger. Two monitors that can be lowered are provided in the middle armrest.
