The separating column is connected to a branching device (16) which is connected on one side to a second polar or apolar separating column (18) and on the other side to an apolar separating column (17). The higher boiling components and water are led to the separating column (18) where the water is removed by cryo-focusing. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for carrying out the gas chromatographic analysis of a sample.
