A calibration factor for a known calibration measure (5) is evaluated on a firmly defined calibration plane (8) through a photogrammetric standard method. The calibration factor for any measurement plane (9) which is parallel to calibration plane is automatically calculated and removed from known spacing (h) with the aid of calibration factor and the value of the known reference objects of image processing system.
