The pressure limit valve (10) for hydraulic assemblies, with a direct control, has a damping piston (24) at the closing member (23) to dampen oscillations as a hydraulic damper. A second piston (40), under spring (41) pressure, has a pressure surface (43) linked to the inlet connection (16) through a diaphragm drilling (38) for a rapid response to pressure peaks. The pressure surface (43) of the second piston (40) is significantly smaller than the pressure surface (44) of the damping piston (24).
