The appliance (1) for activating the diaphragm for breathing consists of a fixed support-head (3) for supporting the body with the under-belly. The support head is adjustable in height and fixed to the free end of a support tube (2) protruding at right angles from the stand (7). The support tube consists of a basic tube (4) in which an inner tube (5) is telescopically movable. The basic tube is fixed to a cuff (6) enclosing the stand and movable and fixable along the stand. The stand is fixed by stud bolts (10) to a sub-structure (11) such as wall or support .
