Accelerator pedal module has a friction element (21) in the foot-pedal (10) itself that is parallel to the rotation axis of the pedal. The friction element interacts with matching friction surfaces (23) in the foot pedal mounting housing wall (111). The friction effect acts against the spring (13) force trying to return the pedal to its fully out position, so producing a force hysteresis.
