The method involves identifying a physiological cycle of the patient (28), which has a number of phases and selecting at least one phase. At least one segment of projection data is detected for each selected phase of the object during each rotation of each X-ray source (16). A projection dataset is generated by combining each data segment. A cross-section image is generated of the whole patient. The image or its associated data are communicated to a remote unit for transmission over a network. An Independent claim is included for a computer tomography system for use with the method.
