The invention provides a photographic element comprising a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a cyan coupler represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group of 2 to 15 carbon atoms;PPR.sub. 4 and R. sub.5 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group;PPR.sub.6 represents an alkyl or aryl group; PPX represents a halogen atom; andP PZ represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being split off by oxidized color developer.
