The appts. to bond a nonwoven, using water jets, has a housing (1) where water is fed under pressure at a feed chamber (2) across the housing width to pass through a filter (4) and into a distribution zone to be forced through the micro-perforations in a plate (7) as water needle jets (8) against the web surface. The water travels from the feed chamber (2) to the perforated plate (7) through a channel (22) with a rectangular cross section over the whole length of the injector appts. The dimensions of the channel (22), between its side walls (21) and its height, are set to give a stable water flow pattern without turbulence. The gap between the side walls (21) of the channel (22) is from 1 mm to a max. 10 mm. The wall height is 5-100 mm.
