Winding for fibre optic gyroscope, repeats axial exchange pattern, enhances symmetry and improves temperature compensation

摘要

The winding repeats a cyclic pattern of single turn half layers (18) starting axially from the center followed by three double layers with alternate exchange of axial position of the halves of the fibre and a single outer layer. AN Independent claim is made for method of manufacturing optical fiber coil on a mandrel (12) for a gyroscope.
