Improving UV-radiation stability of photosensitive skin-protecting solar filters used in cosmetics involves use of photo-stabilizing material including at least one silicon alkoxide and surfactant
Improving UV-radiation stability of photosensitive skin-protecting solar filters used in cosmetics involves use of photo-stabilizing material including at least one silicon alkoxide and surfactant
Improving the UV-radiation stability of photosensitive skin-protecting solar filters comprises incorporation of filter into photo-stabilizing material prepared as sol-gel from at least one silicon alkoxide, at least one surfactant, optionally at least one solvent, and water. The latter has pH 1-4, preferably 1-2. Independent claims are also included for: (1) photo-stable material, comprising photosensitive solar filter associated with photo-stabilizing material made by sol-gel way and including: (a) at least one silicon alkoxide, (b) at least one solvent, (c) at least one surfactant and (d) water; and (2) cosmetic and/or dermatological composition comprising filter photo-sensitive to UV irradiation and required quantity of photo-stable material as claimed (preferably 1-60 wt.%), optionally in form of particles obtained by drying and grinding, of particle size 0.1-50 (preferably 0.1-20) microns, as well as optional additives, in form of other solar filters, bronzing agents, pigments, organic solvents, thickeners, softeners and antioxidants.
