The headlamp has a screen (12) that can be raised and lowered in front of the reflector (4). Electric motor (24) rotation is coupled to the screen by an air coupling (26) using a fan, which helps cooling. Fluid or magnetic coupling may be used. When the motor is off, the screen adopts its rest position, which corresponds to the low beam setting, under influence of a spring or counterweight.
