The engine flywheel (1) is elastically coupled (13) to the rotor (11) of an alternator/motor (7) mounted coaxially with the flywheel. The alternator/motor has its torque regulated. The alternator/motor has the stator (9), rotor and the elastic coupling axially displaced relative to the flywheel.
