The windscreen wiper blade holder (12), which has two parallel sides (14) and a crosspiece (72), is articulated to the end (16) of the wiper arm (18) by a connector (20), the body of which has a projection in the form of a retaining lug (80). The lug is elastically deformable with a sloping surface shaped to engage with the blade holder and prevent any displacement of the rear end (21) of the connector in a direction perpendicular to the transverse axis (A2) of the articulated joint. A variant of the design has projecting studs on the inner surfaces of the connector's side walls (22) which engage with holes in the sides of the blade holder.
