Heat absorbing filter operating in the visible and infrared ranges for use in surgical and therapy applications, and manufacture

A heat absorbing filter comprises a substrate, with at least one layer of an infrared reflecting material, and a coating forming an interferential filter in the visible range which is made up of at least two groups of different piles. The first group of piles presents an alternance of first and second films repeated N times and the second group of piles presents third and fourth films repeated N times. The first and/or second films differ from respectively the third and/or fourth films by their thickness, the first and third films having a thickness of L or a multiple of L and being made of a first material having a refraction index of n1 and the second and fourth films having a thickness of H or a multiple of H and being made of a second material having a refraction index of n2 where N is a whole number - 3 and H and L are geometric thicknesses and in which N, H, L, n1 and n2 are such that the coating forming an interferential filter presents a transmission window situ ted between 400 and 800 nm. The method for fabricating this heat absorbing filter is also claimed.
