Surface treatment of plastic material comprising: (1) applying to the surface of polymerisable/crosslinkable compositions comprising polymerisable oxetanes and e.g. polymerisable epoxides; and (2) polymerising/cross-linking of the applied materials by irradiation. Surface treatment of plastic material comprising: (1) applying to the surface of polymerisable/crosslinkable compositions comprising (i) 1-99 wt.%, especially 1-60 wt.%, of polymerisable matrix (A), comprising co-monomers/oligomers/polymers with oxetane functionality (frA) (ii) 99-1 wt.%, especially 99-40 wt.%, of polymerisable matrix B comprising co-monomers/oligomers/polymers with functionality (frB), which is epoxy ( alpha 1) and/or acrylate( alpha 2)/alkenyl-ether( alpha 3)/hydroxy( alpha 4) (iii) cationic/radical initiator (iv) optionally a promoter (D) and (v) optionally a pigment (E); and (2) polymerising/cross-linking of the treated surface by exposure to a source of irradiation or electron beam(s).
