A metallic friction component operating tribologically in a non-lubricated mode incorporates, at least at the level of the component to be subjected to friction, an alloy layer of a composite or a coating presenting a coefficient of friction of between 0.3 and at least 0.5 and/or a wear coefficient of less than 10-5 mm3/Nm.
