SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CLASSIFYING DETECTED EAR EVENTS IN A CARDIOSTIMULATION SYSTEM

A system for classifying signals detected by an electrode of an implantable cardiostimulation system (10) positioned in an atrium of the heart (8) is presented. It includes a pulse generator (96) and a controller (74). The method includes collecting atrial event signals composed of P and R wave signals in the far field. An intermediate form factor histogram is generated based on a signal form. It includes a histogram of intermediate P waveform and R waveform factor, each comprising sets of signals. A previously generated histogram is weighted and combined with the intermediate histogram to create a representative histogram. The representative histogram is analyzed to determine whether a minimum margin of error is between the P wave histogram and the R wave histogram. Atrial event signals are classified according to form as P wave or R wave based on the representative histogram.
