Inspection method and equipment for emergency core cooling system piping

PURPOSE: To shorten a process, and to reduce radiation exposure by inspecting a water-immersed valve without draining in a pressure suppression chamber. CONSTITUTION: In an emergency core cooling system piping 8, in which suction strainers 12 are connected into a pressure suppression chamber 3 through the mounting flanges 14 of suction pipes 7, the suction strainers 12 are covered with detachable water-sealed caps 13 fast stuck to the mounting flanges 14 of the suction pipings 7 by the operation of pressure. Annular hollow rubber bodies expanded at air pressure are mounted into the water-sealed caps 13, the suction strainers 12 are covered with the water-sealed caps 13, and the annular hollow rubber bodies 15 are expanded by air and the water--sealed caps 13 are clamped and fast stuck to the suction pipings 7. Accordingly, water flowing into the emergency cooling system piping 8 from the suction strainers 12 can be interrupted.
