PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm whether a prescribed signal delivered between apparatuses constituting a LAN is normal, and what kind of operation mode the signal is.;SOLUTION: A signal, such as normal link pulses outputted from a network apparatus via a first or a second connectors 1, 2 and a pulse transformer 15, is inputted in a physical device 16. In the physical device 16, contents of a prescribed register are set according to the input signal and read by a central processing circuit 52, and the operation mode of the network apparatus is decided. According to the decided result, a first to a sixth LEDs 17-22 are turned on by the central processing circuit 52 via LED display circuit 53. Thereby whether operation of the network apparatus is acceptable and the operation mode can be confirmed are decided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
