PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a combustion characteristic corresponding to an application of a combustion equipment to be attained by a method wherein a suction part for use in sucking up liquid fuel and a heat-resistant combustion part are made of different material and connected to each other. ;SOLUTION: A combustion section 61 is made such that some glass fiber threads are bundled and bent at their intermediate sections, the bent sections are inserted into a cylindrical metallic connector member 63 and pushed into a wedge-like fixing member 64 and fixed there. The sucking-up section 62 is made such that polyethylene powder is molded and sintered into a rod shape having a heat part 62a of large diameter. The head part 62a is inserted into a lower part of the connecting member 63, contacted with the lower end part of the combustion part 61, the lower end of the connecting member 63 is press fitted under this state, the combustion part 61 and the sucking-up part 62 are connected to have an integral assembly to constitute a combustion wick 6. In this way, the combustion part 61 and the sucking-up part 62 are made of different raw material, thereby the combustion part 61 is designed in correspondence with a size and a shape of the flame and the sucking-up part 62 is designed to have such a sucking-up performance as one corresponding to a fuel consumption amount.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
