PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for preventing excessive outflow of aerated liquid in which in the case of installing an overflow weir for discharging aerated liquid treated in an oxidation ditch tank into a settling tank in the vicinity of an aerator by all means in relation to layout of a sewage treatment facility, aerated liquid excessively flows out of the overflow weir by effect of the aerator and therefor excessive outflow of aerated liquid from the overflow weir is prevented and discharge amount is stabilized and also scum generated in the tank is discharged simply and easily to the outside of the tank. SOLUTION: A baffle 5 fitted with a gate for discharging scum is provided in the inside of a tank 1 oppositely to an overflow weir 4. Thereby, even if the vicinity of an aerator waves by rotational motion of an aerator 3, excessive outflow of aerated liquid from the overflow weir 4 is prevented by the baffle. Also, scum generated in the tank 1 is discharged from the overflow weir to the outside of the tank by opening the shutter of the discharge gate.
