PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively regenerating an active carbon fiber sheet containing an adsorbate by passing a current therethrough and to provide an apparatus provided with the sheet and used for removing or recovering an adsorbate.;SOLUTION: There is provided a method for regenerating an active carbon fiber sheet comprising desorbing an adsorbate by heating, which method comprises providing electrodes between which a current is passed so that the sheet may be heated by the heat generated by the electric resistance of the sheet itself on both opposite ends of the active carbon fiber sheet by connecting the electrodes to the sheet in such a manner that at least the contact resistance of the connecting part of the sheet to each electrode may be smaller than that at that portion of the sheet which lies between both electrodes and passing a current between the both electrodes to thermally desorb the adsorbate and an apparatus for removing or recovering an adsorbate wherein the active carbon fiber sheet is disposed in an adsorption tank.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
