PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for extracting titles of topics of news, with which the titles of manuscripts of news can be presented in natural language sentences easy to comprehend without a problem that required phrases are not extracted.;SOLUTION: A device 2 for extracting topics of news is provided with a function for extracting the natural language sentences exactly expressing topics by analyzing the texts of news related to the topics of news within a fixed period extracted from the manuscripts of news taken out of a filing device 1 and evaluating reliability for judging whether the expressions peculiar for the manuscripts of news can be utilized as titles or not.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
