PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an online shopping system which is safely and easily available to a person having the plural credit cards.;SOLUTION: A user terminal 1 obtains the product information from a sales server 2 via the Internet 6 then the user terminal 1 dispatches the order details to a settlement server 4 via a telephone network 7. The settlement server 4 retrieves the database 5 using a telephone number of a source of dispatch. In the case of registration of the card information the settlement server 4 transmits information only like the name of a card issuer and a deadline for use to the user terminal 1 through the telephone network 7 so as to have the user identify the settlement card. The use transmits a keyword if the card is good enough. The settlement server 4 authenticates the person in question while verifying the keyword registered on the database 5. Then the settlement server 4 deals with a settlement. On the occasion of the user wishing to complete the settlement by means of another card the user transmits a set of the new card information and the keyword. The settlement server 4 carries out the settlement under the card information and registers on the database 5 a set of the new card information and the keyword while corresponding to the telephone number of the source of dispatch.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
