PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of accurately and quickly measuring an ultrasonic resonance frequency, an ultrasonic acoustic velocity, and an acoustic anisotropy in a metallic thin plate.;SOLUTION: An optional waveform generating means 3 produces a chirp pulse waveform so as to transmit it to a voltage amplifier 4. The voltage amplifier 4 amplifies the transmitted waveform so as to transmit it to diplexer 5. The diplexer 5 sends the transmitted wave from the voltage amplifier 4 to an electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 6, and at the same time when transmission is finished, a waveform received by the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 6 is sent to an A/D converter 8. A frequency analyzing means 9 analyzes a frequency of an A scope obtained by the A/D converter 8 so as to provide a spectrum. An anisotropy calculating means 10 detects a peak of the spectrum from the spectrum so as to decide a resonance frequency, and from its ratio, calculates the acoustic anisotropy so as to send its result to a display part 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
