PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cation-type rosin emulsion sizing agent exhibiting excellent sizing performance over a wide pH range (papermaking pH 4.5-8.0).;SOLUTION: This cation-type rosin emulsion sizing agent is obtained by dispersing rosin, an α,β-unsaturated polybasic acid addition rosin, or an ester or amide derivative thereof by the use of a dispersant comprising a resin which is prepared by reaction of an organic or inorganic acid with a polyamide resin made by introducing hydrophobic groups onto the skeleton of the condensate of a polyalkylene polyamine and a polybasic acid, or prepared by introducing glycidyl trimethylammonium chloride onto the above polyamide resin followed by optionally reaction with an organic or inorganic acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
