PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mutans streptococcus-selecting culture medium which inhibits the growth of foreign bacteria to enable the highly accurate detection of only the mutans streptococci.;SOLUTION: This culture medium for selecting the mutans streptococci comprises a bacitracin-added mitis-salivarius modified culture medium and gramicidin added thereto. The addition of the gramicidin to the bacitracin-added mitis-salivarius culture medium enables to reduce the proliferation of foreign bacteria except the mutans streptococci without controlling the proliferation of the mutans streptococci.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
