PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tile having a hydrophilic antipollution layer which reduces rain stripe pollution appearing on a tile surface and more reduces the rain stripe pollution attendant upon use of a silicone sealant, in particular.;SOLUTION: Fine liquid particles containing silica and a siliceous material for bonding are uniformly applied onto a substrate surface having minute ruggedness of 1 to 5 μm average surface roughness or a roughened surface of 10 to 800 μm and then heat treatment preferably at 300 to 700°C is executed to form siliceous binders and thereby the tile having hydrophilic antipollution layer to which silica fine particles are bound is manufactured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
