PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airborne ocean forecasting apparatus capable of calculating a spot point to be actually measured for water temperature data in the case of forecasting the ocean and accurately forecasting the ocean with a little actually measured data.;SOLUTION: The airborne ocean forecasting apparatus comprises a data input unit 2 for capturing actually measured water temperature data to the airborne ocean forecasting apparatus, an ocean environmental database 3 for storing a plurality of water temperature data patterns, a memory 4 for storing the water temperature data patterns read from the database 3, a using data deciding unit 5 for selecting the water temperature data pattern in which a difference between the actually measured water temperature data and the water temperature data from the ocean environmental database 3 becomes the minimum, an assimilation processing unit 6 for correcting the water temperature data of each lattice point of the selected water temperature data pattern by using the actually measured water temperature data, a forecasting processing unit 7 for forecasting the ocean by using an output from the unit 6, and a display means 9 for displaying a forecasting result.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
