PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method for selectively raising Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause and a method for controlling insect pests using the Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause.;SOLUTION: This method for preparing Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause comprises carrying out successive raisings for repeatedly performing processes of (1) raising Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause under a short-day condition and making the adult of the Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha lay eggs and (2) raising the eggs under a short-day condition and making the obtained adult lay eggs as a method for preparing the Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause. This method for controlling insect pests comprises releasing Amblyseius womersleyi Schicha not exhibiting a short-day reproductive diapause in a crop culture area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
