PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustooptical filter capable of adequately filtering light of plural frequencies, a driving method therefor, and an optical branching/ inserting device using the same.;SOLUTION: The acoustooptical filter of this invention is provided with a signal source 13 for supplying an RF frequency to the acoustooptical filter and a control part 12 for controlling the RF frequency of the signal source 13, and a compensation part 11 obtains an RF frequency for selecting one beam of light among plural beams of light in the case of selecting plural beams of light different in frequencies from each other through the acoustooptical filter by increasing and decreasing a prescribed compensation value to the RF frequency in the case of selecting only one beam of light; obtains all the plural RF frequencies for selecting plural beams of light; and instructs the control part 12 to oscillate the obtained plural RF frequencies.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
